The former city of Kallenhardt can look back at a more than 925 year-old history and belongs since the municipal reorganisation in 1975 politically to the city of Rüthen in the circle of Soest/Wesfalen. Geographically seen Kallenhardt lies in the nature reserve Arnsberger wood, with the northern edge of Sauerland.

Kallenhardt got bronze medal

The rating commission awarded the third prize to Kallenhardt in the category of villages with over 800 citizens. The effort of the last months have been worthwhile and have not only brought hard cash, it should rather have increased the self-esteem of Kallenhardt's citizens.

St. Clemens appears in an favourable light

As another measure to the preservation and improvement of the townscape the friends' association home care and traditional customs Kallenhart conceived a plan last autumn to floodlight the St. Clemens church steady from all sides. The two former spot lights have served their time, the light on the north-east side hasn't been able to reach the building for years now because of the trees.
